Robert Abela was reconfirmed as Labour Party leader after receiving 627 votes in favour from 658 valid ballots, equivalent to 95.3%. Thirty-one delegates voted against him and six abstained, with three invalid votes. Ian Borg won 97.7% support to remain deputy leader for parliamentary affairs, while Alex Agius Saliba received 91.6% to remain deputy leader for party affairs. The internal vote followed Labour’s general-election victory and gave the leadership a fresh mandate at the start of the new legislature.
