Five swimmers returned safely to land after getting into difficulty in the Blue Grotto area. Three managed to reach shore without assistance, while Civil Protection Department personnel recovered the remaining two and carried them aboard the Delta 2 rescue vessel. Teams from Fire Stations 1, 5 and 8 took part in the operation. A Mater Dei Hospital emergency medical team assessed the swimmers at the scene, and all were discharged there without requiring hospital transfer. The Civil Protection Department also acknowledged assistance from the Malta Police Force and the Armed Forces of Malta.
