Malta will host the World Travel and Tourism Council Global Summit from 7 to 9 October 2026, according to the Tourism Ministry. More than 200 travel and tourism leaders are expected, alongside investors, policymakers and industry specialists. The government presents the event as a forum for collaboration, investment and knowledge-sharing, and as a showcase for its strategy of higher-quality, sustainable tourism. Tourism Minister Jo Etienne Abela said the summit would highlight Malta’s longer-term direction for the sector, including infrastructure, connectivity and innovation. The announcement sets out the event’s aims; it does not quantify projected visitor spending or economic returns.
