An illegal structure outside a Sliema hotel linked to developer Carlo Stivala was dismantled following pressure from residents and Moviment Graffitti. The activists said the installation had occupied public land and created a hazard, and argued that enforcement should not depend on public outrage or threatened direct action. They placed the case within a wider campaign over commercial encroachment on pavements, waterfronts and gardens across Malta and Gozo. Graffitti said it would continue monitoring the site and pressing for public areas to remain accessible to residents, including people with mobility needs.
