A 37-year-old man was remanded after pleading not guilty to charges involving residents of Dar Iris, a Żabbar community home for persons with disabilities. Prosecutors allege that between August 11 and 22 he repeatedly committed non-consensual sexual acts against one vulnerable resident and subjected another to harassment and unwanted sexual conduct. The defence sought bail, citing his employment, valid residence permit and three years in Malta. Prosecutors objected because the residents had not yet testified and argued that he might abscond. Magistrate Caroline Farrugia Frendo refused bail. All allegations remain unproven unless established in court.
