James Manfrè, 32, was remanded after pleading not guilty to charges connected with an incident in St Mark Street, Valletta, on 30 September. Prosecutors allege three police officers were assaulted while responding to an earlier fight and that Manfrè resisted, threatened or insulted officials, damaged property and breached public peace and earlier bail conditions. The court ordered a medical witness to attend the next sitting after the defence raised questions about possible toxicology testing at Mater Dei. No bail application was filed, and every allegation remains unproven.
