MATSEC will review Intermediate physics scripts after an exam diagram omitted values needed to solve a question. Officials said centres were contacted within the first hour after the error was detected, but candidates at one location were informed only ninety minutes into the session. A parent said her son had spent more than half an hour attempting the impossible calculation. MATSEC is consulting examiners and promised mitigation so no candidate is unfairly penalised, recognising the paper’s importance for sixth-form and university admissions.
