Heritage Malta inaugurated the restored set of ten tapestries and the Council Hall at the Grand Master’s Palace in Valletta. Commissioned by Grand Master Ramon Perellos in 1708, the collection is described as the world’s only complete surviving set still displayed in its intended room. Belgian conservators cleaned, colour-matched, stitched and rewove damaged areas before the works returned to Malta on a new low-strain hanging system. The hall’s original wooden ceiling and paintings were also conserved within the palace’s wider €40 million restoration.
